In 1935, the founder of DC Comics, Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, published number 1 of New Fun, the first comic book magazine exclusively composed of new original plates, at a time when albums were mainly used to collect those that did not have lucky to appear in the newspapers. What had initially been considered an ephemeral publication for children was well on its way to becoming the mythology of our time, the twentieth century answer to Atlas or Zorro.
